Hi, I’m Caroline and I’m a graphic designer based in Liverpool. Together with my sister Hayley, a London based merchandiser we set up Mantilini. I wanted out of the corporate world of design where I had worked for over 15 years and create art that I loved making so, in 2025 I made the leap. 

We create art prints to amplify someone’s sense of style and aesthetic in a very easy way using colour, recognisable sayings, cultural references and everyday objects to convey joy, humour and life’s little joys. With a little bit of sardonic expression and dark humour thrown in. 

We believe that a print can light up a room, inspire, create a talking point and bring joy and we are so happy that we can provide this possibility affordably therefore democratising good design for anyone who wants to experience it.

Hayley and I both love pop culture, cult films and devour The Summer Exhibition at The Royal Academy of Art every year with a Dior retrospective, Wes Anderson exhibition or other fabulous design events thrown in along the way. We love amazing female comedians and writers, basically anything Sharon Horgan has put her name to, can recite most of the entire 6 series of Sex and the City (this would 100% be my Mastermind specialist subject) and get way too excited about 90s supermodels and celeb Architectural Digest house tours. 

So, as for the name Mantilini, let us explain. One of our favourite films of all time is Heat which features 2 of our most favourite actors ever. Hearing the music score immediately ignites utter excitement and nostalgia. The scene where Robert De Niro and Al Pacino’s characters meet in a downtown LA restaurant was so iconic as it was the first time the actors had ever shared screen time. That real life restaurant was called Kate Mantilini but is sadly no more. We love the reference to an epic bit of movie history and wanted to keep the name alive as it means so much to us.
